Boca Walk-in Tubs specializes in building walk-in tubs without frames or otherwise known as ‘frameless’. The video below illustrates the short term and long term problems related to utilizing a walk-in tub like a frameless walk-in tub.
PLEASE DON’T BUY A FRAMELESS WALK-IN TUB!
This outfit is very upfront about being ‘made in the USA’ and not overseas. It’s nice to buy something made in the USA. However, no one likes purchasing a walk-in tub without knowledge of the price. This is the same practice Premier follows. In some cases, Premier has pricing that can be over $15,000 (Source PissedConsumer.com). Furthermore, many great companies in the United States build their products in China or elsewhere and have installed significant quality control measures to ensure representative quality. This is just some general food for thought and additional perspective. Still, it’s recommended to avoid walk-in tub companies who do not share pricing on their walk-in tubs.
Envy Walk-in Tubs
Envy Walk-in Tubs provides true transparency in an industry where things can be highly murky. Aside from being upfront with their prices, their quality remains among the best. Envy maintains consistency and quality through individual water and electrical testing of their walk-in tubs. Envy also offers options and now the ‘Envy Ultra Line’ that can equip your walk-in tub at 1/3 of the price of other brands and at a level on par or exceeding other brands. Envy has so much confidence in their walk-in tubs they provide a lifetime warranty against it ever leaking. The price range of Envy Walk-in Tubs is $2699.99-$3999.99. They are worth every penny.
Ariel Walk-in Tubs
Ariel’s are amongst the lowest priced walk-in tubs available. The design of their tubs are simple. However, the following flaws should be noted. Pneumatic or button controls have a proclivity of jamming or being far more challenging to operate than a touchpad. Unfortunately, this design flaw exists on every walk-in tub we’ve seen except the Envy Walk-in Tub. The door handle also has the common hazardous handlebar design which plagues nearly all walk-in tubs.
Ariel Walk-in Tubs do not carry the necessary certifications for installation in the United States & Canada (Wayfair.com). Effectively, the only way you can get away with installing this tub is if you do not pull permits for your remodel. Furthermore, if you’re selling your residence you run the risk of an issue during final inspection. Also, you can find numerous complaints about the company’s operations (See: SteamShowersInc.com).
Allure Walk-in Tubs
Allures represent the most affordable line of walk-in tubs amongst the two largest Home Improvement Centers. They are exclusively available with the Home Depot online. It’s worth noting Allure Walk-in Tubs has more positive reviews than either of the two other companies available on Home Depot online, American Standard and Ella. Allures represent a great value and will enable you to finish your walk-in tub project with some money still left in your pocket.
Bathing Solutions are amongst the lowest priced walk-in tubs available. The design of their tubs are common. However, the following flaws should be noted. Pneumatic or button controls have a proclivity of jamming or being far more challenging to operate than a touchpad. Unfortunately, this design flaw exists on every walk-in tub we’ve seen except the Envy Walk-in Tub. Please see the pictures below to illustrate this point. The door handle does not suffer from the handlebar syndrome, but its small size and large non-ergonomic size make its leverage limited and opening and closing a challenge over time.
